Message Notes

More Than My Worst Moment // Summer of Psalms // 07.13.25

Have you ever messed up, like really messed up? Maybe you have, and you think, "There is no way I can go to church!" That, my friend, is a lie. Jesus tells us to: come as you are," because that is His heart. That is our heart as well, so come listen to a message about a man who REALLY messed up, and still was able to come back to his Father's house.

More Than My Worst Moment

Main Point: There are no __________________________ people, (There are no __________________________people)

Psalms 51:1-6

1. You __________________________ for what you have done

Psalms 51:7-15

2. You realize it's __________________________, not your work, that cleanses you

Psalms 51:16-19

3. He restores your __________________________ and makes it new, and His own

Discussion Questions – 07.13.25

Psalms 51 gives us the outline for what the Salvation prayer looks like (repentance, forgiveness, and allowing God to make you new). Kick off the evening by having everyone share their own story of when they came to Christ.

1. How do you personally view God when you've messed up? Psalm 51 shows God as merciful and loving. In times of failure, do you find it easy or hard to turn to God? Why?

2. What does this psalm say to you about (a) the seriousness of sin and (b) the desire for forgiveness?

3. What do you understand by ‘a broken and contrite heart’ (vv. 51:17)? What are the practical signs of possessing such a heart?

4. Why do you think such a heart is pleasing to God?

5. David talks about using his restoration to help others (vv. 51:13-15). Have you ever seen someone's story of healing impact others? How can our own brokenness and restoration become part of our testimony and ministry?
